world trade centre attacks
« on: December 13, 2001, 10:56:14 AM »

I feel deeply upset and worried by what happened on 11 sept i think i speak on behalf of most people in the uk who would like to send messages of sympathy and condolence to all the families involved in this despicible act of cowardness.
on the 15 sept a 3 minute silence was held across the uk and i am not ashamed to say i shed a tear or two as did many others, not a day has gone by since the attacks took place that our tv has not included some news item about the tragedies and quite rightly so  as we should not forget what happened EVER !.
as i am only an swl i cannot offer my sympathies over the air but hopefully this forum will get the message to the people who i am thinking about every day .
GOD BLESS THE VICTIMS and GOD BLESS AMERICA .
OUR HEARTS ARE WITH YOU. thank you for reading this message 73s simon wood RS180399

Thank you for your kind expression of condolence.
It very much appreciated by everyone, I am sure.

Many foriegn nationals, including British subjects were killed in these acts.  These events have been a wake up call for all Americans who are now alert to the same threats of terrorism what others in the UK, Europe and the Middle East have lived with for years. The era of isolationism in which we thought terrorism was something which happened elsewhere is past.  We must all be vigilant!

I know that Americans as a whole are extremely appreciative of the participation of UK ground, air and naval forces in support of the miliary actions now underway in Afghanistan.  Our prayers are with them as well as for our own.  We are in this together.

It is vital that the world community speak as with once voice that civilized countries will not tolerate terrorism in any form, by anyone.  This isn't about Islam or any kind of prejudice, but in preserving our humanity.

73 All,

I see alot of posts reg. Skywarn, Ares, etc.... What I would like to see is a Homeland security type net dedicated only to emergencies that may arise as a direct result of terrorism. This net or club would also be responsible for keeping their eyes and ears open to possible terrorism before it can happen.

Is this something we could put together? is it a good idea? If not, Why?.
