Has anyone built the Montreal?
« on: March 03, 2005, 06:37:03 AM »

I am interested in building the Montreal Doppler (latest one). It is available with the pics and two boards. Besides that, is there anything else beside the antennas I will have to get? I know I will have to procure the solid state parts but does this require any additional hardware? Is the antenna switching circuit built in or will I have to build that as well..

How did yours work out and is it a worthwhile project. I have been checking out various sites but most assume you've been DF'ing before.. Just trying to throw a line out there before I dig in and an pointers on this project would be appreciated..  Tnx Richy N2ZD

Hi Richy - just ran across your un-replied question.  I have gathered parts but have not started the 32 LED, no LCD Montreal Doppler so can't answer your questions.  I purchased 2 boards plus the the Moell antenna board from Far circuits.  I did not get a kit of parts and am gathering my own and plan to program my own PIC using the authors on-line Hex file.

So, did you build one yet?  If so how satisfied are you.

You might do some Googling to get comments from others.  VE3EMM has several feedback comments on his web page.
