The English typically are better on 160m, where they have
a long tradition of hunting.  However, they have only
recently been getting practice on 80m.  The last few years
have seem some improvements, as well as some interesting
new equipment.

American hounds tend to be longer distance animals (up to
400 miles on 2m).  This has lead to some strains with
specific attributes for such events.  There also is a wide
range of varieties available:  80/75m, 10m, 2m, 6m, ATV, 440,
as well as breeds for tracking rockets and balloons.
As in England, the shorter events are a more recent
introduction, but an eastern-European influence has helped
the Americans to make big improvements in this area.

The biggest difference, however, seems to be where they
end up after the hunt.  English prefer a pub, while
Americans tend toward pizza places.

Beagles are good, but I personally like a Beagle-Basset mixed breed.
