License In Spain
« on: March 14, 2001, 08:55:25 AM »

Hello All,,

I will be moving to Spain from the USA.
I am actually a EU national from the U.K.
The move is classed as indefinite.

I have a US General & UK Class A (CEPT 1)

What is required for a license in Spain, "EA",
I assume I can only use the "/EA" for a limited period.

Any pointers, assistance or help greatly appreciated.

Best Rgds

You can use the /EA for 3 months. After that, you should have a real EA... call.

Hello Rene..

Thanks for info..
I was actually looking for the info on how to get the EA Call. I actually received this info this morning.
--------------------------------------------------
Dear David:

You can obtain an EA licence because not only there is reciprocal agreement
between UK and Spain Governments but also both countries accept the HAREC
Certificate (CEPT Recommendation T/R 62-02). If you get from your Government
the HAREC Certificate, it would be only necessary for you to apply for a
class A licence, when you live in Barcelona, at the:

Jefatura de Inspección de Telecomunicaciones de Barcelona
C/ Marquesa, 12
08003 Barcelona
Tel: 93 3047902
Fax: 93 3047922

The respective application form and additional information can be got from it.

Rene is more or less right. If your destination is not Barcelona let me know and I will find out the local Jefatura address for you. Mail me with a fax number and I will send you a copy of the paperwork you need to submit.

Hello Duncan..

Many thanks for the assistance.

It will be Barcelona where we will move to.
We will be there at least 3 years possibly a lot longer.
They moved us to Germany for 3 years which became 7 1/2

Been in the USA for 2 years & 8 months

I have tried to find out what privileges  & allocations are granted
to a Spanish "A"  class license, can you let me know.

We where in Barcelona last week on our preview trip,
saw 4 or 5 large amateur antenna arrays even on apartment buildings.

I think we will be going into an apartment also.
Hope we can get a top floor with balcony or terrace :-) fingers crossed

Shall we take this direct my email address is drhenn@foothill.net

Thanks & Best Regards
