The FCC districts seem to have overlain US Naval Districts; Las Vegas (Clark County NV) was/is in the 11th NavDist, with the rest of the state in the 12th.

Most Nevada CB calls were 11W####, as I recall.  I was never really into CB.  Got my Novice ham call (KN7KBN) in December 1959 and "dropped the N" three months later.

Mine was 2W1496 in 1958 but it wasnt until many years later until I had a real 5W CB rig for mobile, the first was a used vacuum tube Citi Fone SS and then a new 23 channel SS Cobra I paid $10 hours before they became illegal to sell new.....it still works.

Most of those hams who were on 11M before it was stolen continued to use whatever equipment and power they had 8)
