Anyone Work Thomas Manning ?
« on: August 22, 2005, 09:27:53 PM »

My uncle, Tom Manning, was an active ham radio operator from after WW II until his untimely death in 1955.  Or, I think that year is about right, he was a radio operator on a merchant marine ship during the early 1950s as well as being a ham radio operator with a California '6' call sign.

Unfortunately, none of his siblings who are still alive (and, all in the mid-80s in age) can remember his call sign.

As a young kid, I remember his ham shack and the boxes of electronic gear on the floor.  I also remember his antenna and I remember the wide glass insulator ladder line that he fed his wire antenna with.  That is about all I remember.

He lived in San Jose, California.
