I remember Del very well, met him once at a hamfest, he came to the UK and set up a stall, specifically to meet his English cousins, and give out freebies...what a guy; I remember thinking that he must have been a professional entertainer of some sort, such was his manner...RIP old chum..see you sometime...73  Des G4OBB

I lived most of my life in Jacksonville, FL, the home of K4NBN and knew him from our local radio club.  In my office a few miles from his home, I listened to an old Hammarlund receiver.  One day I ran across Del working stations in England on 15 meters.  Because I was so close to him, I could hear both sides of the conversation.  The tall tales he told them about his home, station and xyl had me in tears from laughter.  If you ever heard/worked him on the air, I'm sure you've never forgotten "No Bad News."  I sure haven't.  I'm also a proud owner of his QSL card featuring "Magnolia Blossum."

My parents live in JAX, so I looked him up many many years ago.  Dell gave me a tour of his station and provided 3 QSL cards.  Magnolia Blossom, Shoot the Bull, and Free Alligator QSL cards are up on my wall along with the envelope "Warning:  This may be ....".  He was a real character who lived in "Razorville".
A memorable visit for sure.    73,  Al
