AFTER ACTION REPORT, Hurricaines of '05
« on: March 31, 2006, 08:05:45 AM »

I for one would be extremely interested in seeing a after action report. hurricanes of '05
it is now 06 and if history is correct another bad season soon upon us

I have asked local director if he has seen one or has one been promulgated, and he just did not know either way.

I waited for close to 96 hours on three frequencies supposedly assigned to relief operations and did not hear a peep, i even tried to introduce in real time some emergency traffic involving a injured police officer and wound up doing it on the phone and on MMSN
14300.

this report should include but not be limited to
freq utilization
msg traffic received  tor/tod (im,pri,rt)
msg traffic delivered tor/tod
length of time for traffic passed
station participation
usage of nets
participation of nets
phone patch traffic if any
what worked, what did not work, what needed to improve
what was a disastor
either for fema, mars, homeland sec, shares,
to date have seen nothing
i would imagine the area of destruction that had close to 96000 sq miles would have generated some traffic??
comments??

should a major incident that involved 96000 sq miles warrant a after action report for teaching and improving or not?? it appears as if you three say it does not

should a catastrophe of this size, the deaths, the desolation felt by so many not be used as a training tool to improve what is in effect now?  you three say All is well MARS worked fine

all you three can do is make cute remarks.

i challenge anyone to call me direct, and open a dialog and tell me, or prove to me where i am wrong
however tuesday will not be available til afternoon

i am always ready to discuss anything to a reasonable man..

you claim it is a rant, i deny that.
according to you MARS is perfect and needs no improvemnt..

Ira:

If you didn't get a personal copy of the AAR, then I guess that means you don't have a high enough security clearance for such matters.

WOW, I guess, I'm not allowed to voice my own apinion about MARS.  W3lk & K3wvu, I have never said anything nasty about ANYBODY especially about you two so why are you two putting in your two cents, not relating to the subject at hand but put in one cent and talking about me behind my back.  I've never done or said anything at all about you two. The only thing I have ever said about MARS was the truth, how I joined and I was slipped thru the boards and never received any responses to my emails requesting training material so that I could become a MARS operator again like I was onboard US Navy ships at sea.
I don't know about you two operators but I served our country so that the Freedom of Speech could be preserved.  Obviously you don't feel that the freedom of speech is for everyone but just you two HAM radio operators, one uses his call sign, the other uses his call sign and his MARS call sign, I'm impressed.  One of you said you know about my RANTS.  Hmmm wonder what you really know.  All you know is what you have read here in these threads.  I just wish you could have been the one that would have answered my request for training materials, then maybe I wouldn't have been so negative when it comes to MARS and it's operations and most importantly it's operators.  Just the required training material is all I ever asked for, not much to require to be a fully operational MARS operator.  But like the responses that I received, which was none, you and your MARS are so full of it.  No wonder the Marine Corps dropped out, they too saw the writing on the walls.  I think the two of you should get all your poo poo in one sock before you start talking about someone behind their back.

I'm not going to come to the aid of Ira, I don't know him and I don't have any idea about what he is complaining about and frankly because it has to do with MARS I don't care, so if you two have to really show your lack of intelligence then please continue to talk behind his back too, I am sure he is big enough to say something to you like I am.  Next time you want to say something about me make sure I am here in person, so to speak, with you and make sure you really know what your talking about before you say it.

I just find it strange that there are hundreds and hundreds of productive and satisfied MARS members, but we continually hear from a few who whine and whine and whine.  I guess there are a lot of people out there who like to be spoonfed like little babies.

Mike:

This is my last post on the subject.

You are most certainly entitled to your opinions. The problem is you base them on one example - the problem you assert you have had with getting into navy MARS. When you first posted your rant, and that's exactly what it was, about your troubles I believe I commiserated with you and said I was sorry you had the problem.

Since then, virtually every post you have made you have dragged out this same story and rehashed it as an example of the faults and failure of MARS. With all due respect, give it a break! You don't like MARS and that's fine, but don't try to pass yourself off as something you are not - an expert entitled to pass judgement on any branch of the MARS program and the people in it.

Lon, there you go voicing your opinion again on something you think I said but never did say.  I never ever, nada, nope, said nothing about ALL branches of Mars.  Because you are right, (as usual), I only talk about NAVY Mars and no I am not an expert on the subject, but when someone askes a question about joining MARS, I can and I will interject my personal opinion because that is what they are asking for and neither you nor any other MARS officials can stop my freedom of speech. I don't mention any names until you of course mention my call sign and name then that just opens the door.  So if you don't like me going thru the door that you opened, then maybe you should be the one that shouldn't say anything. I would appreciate it that if you have anything further to say dont say it behind my back, like I found you did with another MARS op.  I haven't talked about you like that so if you don't like me talking about MARS and the way I was treated, tough. Let it lie and maybe I just might stop but if you see me posting a thread, that's my right.
