Looking for Old Parts
« on: May 25, 2000, 04:31:38 PM »

I am in the process of bringing my FT-101E back to life and have hit a road block.  PARTS !!! Where can I find them... Specifically capacitors 1KWv Molded mica(80pF), dipped mica(10pF), ceramic discs, Diodes, real wire wound resistors(not the sand type)etc. of the values and heat tolerances required for this radio.  Do any of you fellows know of a good source for this kind of stuff?

Thanks,

Mike Nelson

I usually find the parts I need from one or more of four places:

Digi-Key (http://www.digikey.com)
Mouser (http://www.mouser.com)
Down East Microwave (http://www.downeastmicrowave.com)
RF Parts (http://www.rfparts.com)

All of them have given me excellent service.

RF Parts has a lot of transmitting tubes, transistors and capacitors, assorted relays, etc.  They have the replacement finals for the FT-101E but you have to modify the rig (change a couple parts) to make them work, as the newer tubes don't quite have the same specs as the originals.

Good luck!
