TS-830S & WARC
« on: November 19, 2000, 07:00:57 PM »

Does anyone have the info on how to restore the WARC band TX to the TS-830?  I have seen the one where you solder in a jumper...I have also heard of one where you actually cut a wire (this one is considered an easier mod).  Thanks in advance!  73 de K4NFO.

The local ham store did mine many years ago by cutting one jumper, I believe, but I have no idea which one.  They did not even charge for it, but I bought the radio there.  It apparently was a very simple mod.  No longer have the radio.  Wish I Did!  Hope this helps.  73 es dx.  Mike

Here is the mod for the warc
In early TS-830's, the WARC transmit was not enabled.
If this is the case, solder a jumper wire from Pin 12 of IC-23 to ground on the DIGITAL UNIT PCB. Ground can be obtained at Pin 8 of IC-4.
