I receintly purchased a Cushcraft MA5B Yagi from my local dealer.
Antenna assembly instructions were straight forward. I discovered that the
moisture boot on the MT2 trap was missing, all other parts were present. I received a phone
call from a Cushcraft technical rep within 30 minutes after leaving a voice mail message. Within
3 days, I had the missing part, antenna assembled and up for testing. The antenna exceeded
VSWR 2:1 Bandwith specifications on 10, 15 and 20 meters. I did encounter a High VSWR problem
with the 17 meter portion of the antenna, 12 meters was well within spec. Again within 30 minutes after requesting help via E-Mail through their Internet page, Ed Hammond (Cushcraft) called me to discuss the problem and offer a potential solution. Do to inclement weather, I havn't dropped the antenna in attempt correct the problem. Cushcraft was very prompt and professional in responding to help resolve this problem. The antenna has performed very well on 10, 15 and 20 meters. Running 100 watts into
the antenna at 40 feet, I achieved 89 countries, 502 contacts in the CQWW contest with minimal amount of operating time. I am very impressed with this antennas performance (compared to a Mosley
TA33 Senior it replaced - due to storm damage). I am more than pleased with response from Cushcraft
and this antennas performance and am confident the the 17 meter VSWR problem will be solved.
