9600 baud TNC for packet work
« on: April 20, 2004, 12:02:59 AM »

I am in the final stages of putting together my ground station for doing some satellite packet and decoding telemetry work.  I have been successful using my MFJ TNC-2 clone for 1200 baud work, but I want to add a 9600 baud TNC.  I have decoded with AGWPE @ 9600 and 1200 baud, but have been informed that using a hardware based TNC is better for decoding weak signals.

I am looking at a Timewave (AEA) PK-96 for this function and would like to solicit comments and opinions on this TNC - good and bad.  If you are using something different, I'd like to hear about that too.

In advance, thanks for your comments.
