When I make a post on any of your forums,I usually see something amiss after previewing,(due to my error). When I go back to edit, it doesn't work. In frustration, I usually just cancel and forget the whole thing.

I hate that. Sometimes I have something to relate of relative importance, but I like to be correct in my wording.

Hi John,

This bug has existed for quite a while.  I've been trying to get one of intrepid programmer guys to fix it...

Your only guarantee is to cut and paste the text (to the clipboard) and restore it that way - otherwise, odds are you'll lose it.  I agree that really stinks.

Thank you, Mike.
I'm not computer literate and I never will be. So I just assumed I didn't know what I was doing.

Hi Mike,

As stated before, we sometimes recognize an error in spelling, typo, etc. AFTER we post, even if we "cut and paste."  IS it possible to edit (or replace) a post AFTER it is up?  I haven't been able to find a way...  (I know that "mean" is spelled "mean", but sometimes the fingers spell "bean."

No, sorry, even I cannot "edit" a post - only delete it.

I have edited my postings just by using the back arrow on my AOL screen. I havel ost only a few because I hit the wrong button but not due to the arrow not working.

Frank,

I believe the question was whether one could edit a post AFTER he submitted it.

If you can do this, I have a webmaster job you can have. ;-)

The additional problem is if one uses the back arrow in some browsers (IE for example) while they are on the "Preview" page, the text they had entered is often lost.  This stinks!

Just to prove me wrong, I edited this post twice using the back arrow and I never lost the text...

:-/
