This is one of his milder posts in the last few days. How long is eHam going to allow this character to post? Mike, are you or anyone else fromeHam actually reading the threads after some of these "articles" you allow?

I'm with Lon in wondering about the standards for articles and postings here on eHam.  When one submits an article, it takes a few weeks to be accepted and put on the web site.  This would imply that there are some criteria for acceptance.  However, some of the "articles" accepted would more appropriately be posted as questions on the Elmers forum.  I think that a careful review of articles and subsequent postings would reveal an inverse relationship between the crudity of the responses and the quality of the original articles.

Chuck,

I have come to the opinion eHam doesn't care about the quality or content of the articles and the posted responses. They will put anything on the system that causes more hits to the site.

If there was any concern for quality, the CW debate "articles" would have disappeared long ago, considering that the very same people are saying the very same thing, day after day after day after day ...

The postings on eHam are becoming as pathetic as those on QRZ.

Hi, Lon.
I use QRZ almost exclusively for QSL address lookups.  Tried to add a comment in one of their forums once, but it was not user friendly and I don't think my comment even "took."

For chatting about ham radio, getting help and useful information, eHam can't be beat.  But I agree, the threshold for acceptance of articles seems to be set way too low.  A month or so ago, there was a plea for more articles of a "how-to" nature, involving technical matters and operating tips.  We can only hope they get more submissions so there are more to choose from.

Chuck,

I know what you mean about QRZ.

I am not sure what's going on behind the scenes, but the "quality" of eHam seems to be going slowly downhill. Case in point is the MARS forum. When it was initially set up, Mike forgot to take U.S Army out of a title he copied for the forum name. Additionally, he accidentally set up two forums. That was over two months ago, and still it hasn't been fixed, even though Mike said he would fix it the day after the forum opened. Still isn't fixed and my query over a week ago still is unresponded to. How difficult must it be to edit a couple of lines on a web page?

Oh well, maybe eHam is a hobby, too. <g>

Lon,

I said I would "try" to get the MARS forum issues fixed.  It's more than just a "web page".  The data is within a database, direct access to which I do not have.  I am at the mercy of those who do...

If you have something good to add, please do so.  We get tired of receiving CW debate articles.  Even articles that make no mention of code have become code/no-code debates.

Most of content on the website is generated by the users and we are at their mercy.  While we can and do delete numerous posts, we cannot be in all places at all times.  So if you see something amiss, let me know.
