I will be feeding two or three center fed dipoles with coax and PL259 connector terminations. The coax runs will leave my vertical and free run at an angle to the center of the various dipoles. These runs will be aprox. 45 to 50' above the ground so I would estimate a suspended length of 50' of coax. I would like to use LMR400 grade coax. So now for the question(s)...
QUESTION 1) It would appear to me that the amount of free hanging weight I am asking the PL259 connector (which will attach to the dipole) is alot. What should I do for strain relief on the PL259?
QUESTION 2) How and with what should I attach the two runs of coax to the vertical? I will be running the COAx up a patio post, inside of a PVC pipe. When it emerges into the air, I would like to attach it to something and provide a drip loop. What should I attach it to to give a flexible strain relief where it emerges? Is there some kind of springing or bungee type line connector that I can use?
There was some sort of data on this in the April 1987 QST in Hints and Kinks but I do not have that issue.
Thanks for your help.
