1/2 Wave Dipole

I am trying to get into ham radio, but I am confused about antennas.  How  would I figure out the demisions for an antenna to transmit on 7.233.50?

468 is the magic number.

468 divided by (your frequency)7.23350 = 64.699 feet.

That is the total length of the dipole, each leg of the dipole will be half of that, ie: 32.349 feet.

Note that, if it is mounted less than a 1/4 wave above ground, it may need to be shortened a bit to reach resonance.  This is not as pronounced on 40m as it is on 80m (where my friend's low 80m dipole wound up being only 110' in length instead of the calculated 125').
