Information Needed When Reporting a Stolen Radio
« on: January 28, 2003, 11:43:58 PM »

Some reports of stolen radios are woefully lacking in essential information.  A few recent reports, on various lists, failed to note such things as:

1.  Does the radio have a DTMF keypad?
2.  What color is the case?
3.  Are there any exterior markings?
4.  What antenna- regular, stubby, or custom?
5.  What type of battery is attached to it?
6.  Does the radio have a display?
7.  Is the radio an FM Approved model?

Of course, a report should include the complete model number and serial number, as well as the model name.  Incredibly, one recent report cited a stolen Motorola HT750 radio, serial number x, but neglected to mention that it was a "rugged option" version that has a gaudy yellow case intended for firefighters.  Gee, that's a pretty significant little tidbit to leave out!
