Sometime during the night of March 19-20, 2006, someone managed to bypass the factory alarm on the family Ford Exploder and stole the Yaesu FT10R from the center console. Rather foolishly, I had left it in plain sight and the thief would have seen it easily, because the interior lights activate when the door handle is lifted.
The HT was in a mount (lead base for wt) which used the cup holder. Attached to the HT was a filtered cigarette lighter power cord, a Yaesu speaker-mic, and SMA-BNC adapters. The thief disconnected the HT from the external antenna. The antenna was not taken. The rubber duckie was with the HT. My call sign was engraved on the HT.
The HT may have turned up in the Palm Springs, California, area. Soon after it was taken, someone was being very obnoxious on the PS Tramway repeater. The Tram repeater is programmed into the unit and identified as TRAM.
