Stolen: IC-207H mobile Control head
« on: February 19, 2008, 04:45:34 PM »

IC-207H mobile Control head stolen from my car, early this AM.  They cut the cable from the main unit (mounted under seat, harder to steal)and took the control head.
I know I will never see it again; but I just can't understand the theft..............just thoughtless.
Now I know how you guys feel when your gear is stolen from you......it really stinks.

Indeed thoughtless. What use is cutting the wire when it is a MODULAR jack anyway?

I'm half tempted to do what it takes to mount mine under the seat now.

Well, so far, so good.  I purchased replacement parts for the unit from the manufacturer and had to have a power resistor replaced (shorted when they cut the cable).  Unit works like new and is stowed COMPLETELY out of sight.....no cables show from the outside looking into the car.  Just the magmount antenna on the roof.

The best revenge......moving on like nothing happened and.........reporting the theft immediately to local law enforcement with full description of missing parts and photo's of them as well.
The parts may turn up someday on a probation sweep; one never knows.
