Smallest 24' boom for 10 m yagi?
« on: September 20, 2000, 01:40:29 PM »

I want to build an OWA type 10 meter monoband yagi to take with me on a trip.  Weight and cost are both issues, so I want to use the smallest diameter and lightest weight boom that is reasonable.  Boom length will be 24'.  Elements will be very light - .058" wall aluminum tubing starting at .625" O.D. and tapering down from there.  This will be a temporary antenna, so it doesn't have to survive high winds, etc.

Obviously 2" O.D. .120" wall 6061-T6 will work - anyone care to suggest something smaller or lighter weight?

Thanks!
