I find it slightly funny (funny HAHA not funny odd) that a CBer is upset with a company that sells Ham Radios (and I use the term loosely) to Non-Hams knowing the radios are going to be used in a manner not in compliance with the law.  If the company has no respect for the rules of law set forth by the FCC, what makes you think they would have any respect for the laws set forth by any other government agency?

I'm with you, Clint.

It's interesting that we seem to be getting an influx of CB'ers trying to convince the amateur community that their freebanding/Dx'ing is the same thing as amateur rradio - it's all about communicating.

Hey guys I posted this here because during a search of the INTERNET one of your members had posted a question about a order he made for a antenna from this company and never received it. I joined because I am trying to get my 81 year old dad into ham radio because he can't get out of home and has no hobbies. I never expected to get any replies to this post, just trying to save anyone some money or misery if they wanted to buy from this company. If you guys are this hateful maybe Ham is not for my dad.He quit listening to CB years ago when the vulgar language got so bad.God bless y'all anyway.

I don't believe I wrote anything hateful. (Pete has his own opinions) I don't wish you gone.  I will point out that the company you referenced is NOT a Ham Radio store, but a CB store. So your explanation of why you posted the link is still in question.  Most Hams know not to deal with outfits like that, and there are many around.

IF you still wish to persue equipment for Ham Radio be it for you or someone else I suggest you deal with Ham Radio sources.  Many advertise here on eHam. The people who work at most of these places are Hams and are willing to get you or whoever, started right. After all if they start you right they will develope a loyal customer base. I don't know of any who will not sell to a non-ham, depending on what you ask for. If you call and ask for an AL-1500 with the 10M done and you can not provide a Ham Call, you may get some resistance, but for beginners gear they are more than willing to help.

Many folks who want to be Hams have posted here and are not usually asked to leave unless they exhibit information that makes the readers think they are up to something no good (such as using Ham Gear on CB or the misnamed "Freeband" [there is no such thing]).

So, if you would like some help, you are welcome here (at least by me). However if you are considering gaining information so you can use Ham gear other than where is was inteded to be used, you can expect much worse posting than those you have seen.
