900 MHz Tinkering
« on: June 23, 2000, 12:12:57 PM »

Greetings VHF/UHF experimenters.

In trolling around various semiconductor makers' web sites, I've run across a family of chips from Maxim that looks like it could make experimenting on our (underutilized?) 900 MHz band relatively painless.  I'm just wondering if anyone has done much tinkering with the MAX242x/MAX246x family of 900 MHz Image Reject Transceivers and/or the eval kits that Maxim makes available with the parts installed and ready to play.  Now, I need another project like I need a hole in the head, but I thought that it would be cool to venture out of my safe little digital realm into analog/RF land and see what lived there.  If anyone has any info and insights, I'd love to hear them.
