Hey! Someone else with a TR-9130! Yes, the manual on this subject gives new meaning to the word "obtuse"! Don't have the service manual, just the Instruction Manual that came with it. I DID manage to figure out that board it is supposed to be installed on is called the "CAR Unit", it's on the schematic, upper right corner. The board comes right out after unplugging two connectors & three phillips screws. That didn't help much. Looks like it MIGHT go into two holes that are soldered over but ever so slightly larger than the surrounding ones, just to the right of where it is marked "R14" and what looks like one end of "D6". Then again, there's an empty hole with a square around it just to the right of that. Geeze, here's an idea, why couldn't they have marked it? Sorry, that would have made sense. Nothing on Kenwood's bullietn board, either. If you find out, can you pass it along? I love the rig, bought it new in 1982 with matching KPS-12 Power Supply. Had to replace power switch in PS, and element in mic. That's IT. Great rig for hilltopping, wish they still made an equlivent. God Forbid someone should make a 220 mHz multimode. Sorry, off the soapbox Hope this is of help.
