TH-F6A Rubber Ducky & Headset recomendation
« on: July 16, 2005, 07:28:02 PM »

Are there more efficient rubber duckys for the TH-F6A.  I'd also like to find a better VOX headset than the one Kenwood offers (I'm looking for one with an earphone rather than an earbud)

The Comet HT-224 is a great replacemant antenna for the F6A. I have one and have been very happy with it. As for that "ear bud" thing I must agree, they are just plain bad. I have that too... The traveler from Heil Sound is a much better choice for a lightweight headset. I wish they made the adapter for the Heil "Quiet Phone", now there's a headset!!! Not the lightest but very comfortable......I keep trying to get an adapter.

The Maldol tri-band antenna is an excellent choice. It's longer than the Comet however, especially on 70cm, it performs better.

I agree with KG4NZR -- the Maldol is the way to go for the antenna.  I don't use a headset so I can't make a recommendation there.
