Any CD is out of date within 24 hours of its release.

While the CDs do often contain bios and such, the most up to date sources for call sign / locations are the online databases. Most of these are updated weekly, if not daily, whereas a CD could easily be six months out of date.

To me, the only reason not to use the online databases is lack of internet access or high cost of connect fees.
