Beware: There is a seller, on ebay,  called SmileNtango, selling RAMs for PC, and they send defective parts, intentionally, so you will send it back, without refund, with the excuse that they have never received it back, all with the blessing of Ebay and Paypal !  They keep on doing this to others, all over the world, making money on defective, useless parts. What a clever way to do buisness with a little help from Ebay & Paypal !!!!!

Yes I got taken to the cleaners by Paypal and that was the last radio that I ever bought on Ebay.

It looks like that guy only sells RAM memory (tens of thousands a month). I would not be surprised to find out that they have no real idea on what they have on hand. The memory is probably out of stripped out used computers and sold to them in big lots.

With that many transactions nor would it be surprising to find out that they do not know what is flowing on and out of the company. That is a large amount of postal business.

Since you are an overseas buyer who tried to do a return it is possible that the package did end up lost somewhere.

I have picked up memory (for an HP printer) from an eBay store but never from a large clearinghouse like the site you referenced. It is unlikely that they have a very advanced order or package tracking system.

I've bought thousands of items on Ebay and done well with it..  Interestingly, I think Ebay is a lot safer and have had better luck on Ebay than buying gear off of ham radio sites.  There has been a few times that I spent several hundred dollars on an item found on a ham classified site and didn't quite what I expected or what was described.  At least with Ebay you see the reviews left by previous sellers/ebay transactions, so you have a better sense whether the seller is trustworthy or not.

E-bay?  If it isn't an electronic or mechanical item, they're OK.  If it is, then you just have to take your chances.  I won't do it.  And Paypal gums up the process, that's for sure.

FWIW, I've actually ordered RAM from these folks, for two different (and old) laptops/tablets.  The RAM worked in the tablet, but the RAM for the laptop did not.  They have some very explicit instructions for contacting them for a refund/exchange, and they did send me replacement RAM for the laptop.  After two exchanges, I never did get any RAM to work with the laptop, sent everything back, and they issued me a credit.

That said, the process was sufficiently convoluted that I probably wouldn't order RAM from them again.  The RAM they sent, BTW, looked like new RAM, not pulls from old equipment (no marks on the contacts to indicate this).  In the future, I'll probably just stick with Crucial.
