The "List" command is possessed.  I tried earlier to create a list, but it adds additional list commands when the post is saved which garbles the list.  Also, when you try to take the commands completely out, it will put the "close list command" back in.  There doesn't seem to be a way to permanently remove it once you have put it in.

You mean you are trying to use the "Insert List" tool on the post creation (or reply) page?
To do something like this:

• 1. this is a test, line 1 of list
• 2. this is a test, line 2 of list

It seems to "work" but I'm not seeing the value of it - I can create a list without that tool.

1. this is a test, line 1 of a non-list
2. this is a test, line 2 of a non-list

What am I missing?

It seems to be working fine now, Mike.  Probably operator error on my part.
