A BETTER CONTEST/LOGGING PROGRAM
« on: February 26, 2002, 02:19:14 PM »

I have been looking for a good logging/contest program that can meet the following requirments
1. do grid squares and calculate on all 6 places
ex: dm14cp
2. in contest or logging mode show all grids you
worked a call/rover in
3. in contest mode network all computers
4. synchronize them up,
ex: if one of the computers goes down, when it comes
back up it will look at the rest of the network
and see what is missing and what is the next
contact number and correct itself.
Is there any such software out there? anything in developement?

may be i am asking to much,

There is something that comes pretty close to your list.
UCXLog
You can download it from www.funkstation.info go to software and don't forget the country.txt file.
It's written for windows systems but without *.dll's, registry inputs etc.
It is a contest/logging software originally made for HF but can handle GRID fields, can be networked with proper handling. The slaves will synchronize log datas after reconnecting, it handles packet, Telnet DX-cluster, controls TRCVR's. Can run trcvr-control and CW/PTT line over 1 COM-port, has greyline maps (rectangular or great circle), some statistics (GRID, IOTA, DXCC), an excellent tool for printing cards or labels etc. etc.
The only problem for you may be the German written helpfile... and that UHF/VHF contests are not implemented yet. The English help file we are working on and Ben (DL7UCX@qsl.net) is mostly very fast while implementing new wishes.

You may want to check out the LOGGER logging software by Bob Furzer, K4CY/9K2ZZ.

www.qsl.net/kc4elo

Download the 7.09 version then the 8 upgrade

Hope this helps!!
