Harris HDCP Communications Protocol
« on: November 19, 2010, 09:43:42 AM »

Does anyone have a more complete version of the specification for the Harris Radio Remote Control Protocol (HRRCP) and how it applies to a broader set of Harris gear? I have the specs for the RF-590, RF-590A and several of the exciters but I do not have a listing for the RF-350K transceiver, RF-355 amplifier or the RF-7210 ALE controller.

They are all capable of remote control through the serial port or by the RS-422 bus. I am trying to pull together enough information to write a software front end for the control of a complete Harris system.

Here is an example of the information I am looking for;
DID:   Mode (MODE)
   Application:      All units.
   Origin:      Master and slaves.
Followed by:   One byte of mode data.
Meaning:   A master uses this DID to send new emission/demodulation mode data to a slave.  The slave uses it to report its current mode.
Channel contexts:   This DID can also be used to program or report channel data when following a Program Channel (PROCHA) or Report Channel (REPCHA) DID, respectively.
Data Format:   The DID is followed by a data byte with the following format:

            Bits 0 3: MODE CODE
            Bits 4 7: Reserved

            MODE      CODE
            CW         0
            AFSK (RATT)   1
            AME/AM      2
            USB         3
            LSB         4
            2ISB         5
            4ISB         6
            MCW         7
            FM         8
            FSK         9

   Value:         C9 hex,   311 octal,   201 decimal

If you have a copy of the spec please let me know by email or PM.
