OK, this is a long shot but I thought I'd give it a try.
I was a teenager in the '70s (with a full head of hair, ahh, those were the days!) I got caught up in the 70's CB radio craze and ragchewed with everyone in the town of Brookline, MA., right next to Boston. CB was so very different back then, filled with civil, lively conversations with good, clean humor and a lot of sociable fun. Channel 29 was the local channel and I had great conversations with three hams on CB who lived in Brookline. I never asked them for their Amateur Radio call signs, unfortunately. I only remember their first names, CB "handles" and a few other details. Here's what I remember:
David, handle: Rotary Rocket. Dave's handle came from his hobby as an amateur auto racer who drove his Mazda RX-7 (introduced in 1978 and equipped with a Wankel rotary engine) at the NH motor speedway. He used to play hockey for the Boston Bruins (1970's or late 60's) but his hockey career was ended by a knee injury.
Lou, handle: Music Man. Lou was a retail businessman who lived in a high rise condo on Beacon St., with a Shakespeare "Big Stik" 11 meter band vertical on the roof.
Steve, I don't remember his handle but he was a mutual friend and foil to Dave and Lou. They had hilarious conversations on ch 29. Steve lived a few houses away from David on Griggs Terrace in Brookline.
It would be great to reconnect with at least one of these gentlemen to let them know I became a ham and to reminisce about the good ol' days on 11 meters. (back when it was good!)
