Big Bird water cooled dummy load connector change?
« on: October 20, 2012, 10:33:41 AM »

I have a big Bird 8738 water cooled dummy load I want to use with RG-213 or similar co-ax. The "connector" on the load is a flange type of about 3 and 1/8 inch OD on the outer of the connection. I have a half decent machine shop at my disposal, any ideas for putting something like a 7/16 inch RF connector on it? I only need it up to say 30MHz, nothing very high frequency. Thanks. Here is the Bird manual for your Bird 8738. Turn to page 8 for proper connections.

Since 3-1/8 rigid line is normally pressurized with Nitrogen, you will find all commercial
connectors are pressure rated.
