I build and type-accept my own amplifiers. It's a real time saver.

And beside owning an amplifier ain't illegal. Using them where not allowed is.

I wouldn't bet an NAL on it if I wasn't an amateur radio operator.

Being unlicensed and in possession of a power amplifier which is capable of operation on the Class D Citizen's Band frequencies IS considered "presumption of use". There's plenty of existing case law to back that statement up.

They are certified for all the classes and bands of which the amplifier is capable. A manufacturer cannot "pick and choose" what features they certify ...- Glenn W9IQ

Thats what I said earlier, the data is from the manufacturer, not an fcc testing lab. The FCC just accepted it as correct.

BTW, All 3 amps you listed the submitted data is for F3E modes only.  What a deal, a 10 - 80 FM amp!

That is not correct. The manufacturer must send the equipment to an independent lab, approved by the FCC, that conducts the tests and sends the report to the FCC. Because the lab is vetted by the FCC, they generally accept the lab's test data and conclusion. The FCC can conduct or order further testing to ensure continued compliance if they have cause.

No amateur radio transceiver needs to be type accepted.
