If something is an identifiable tune, then I'd consider it music.
Usually the boxes just play tone sequences that don't mimic a specific melody, and often aren't on
the standard note intervals, so they aren't obviously music. You still have lots of room for creativity...
Or use a voice recorder chip and record your own non-musical sounds, like a rooster crowing, or a car
trying to start. We used to torture one hunter who worked for the phone company by using a tone
generator that sounded rather like a telephone ringing, but the timing was a little off...

I'm using MP3 players for the voice foxes . That way I can use all the wisecracks that I can come up with. 1 min. files with either a single 15sec. wisecrack, or (2) 15 sec. wisecracks one at the start of the min. and one at the end with 2 transmitters operating. FCC ID every 10 min. and something about the club that has the hunt. I though about the rooster for a wake up hunt instead of using a revile bugle call, haven't gotten one that I like yet. So far there's a general wisecrack hunt ( 1 hour long), a "SOME THINGS THAT A FOX WOULD SAY or JOKES HE WOULD COME UP WITH" ( "What's a Fox like to do on his day off? Why practice his wolf whistle on the BUNNIES at the RABBIT HUTCH." ) ( What's a Car Fox do for exercise? Chase Volkswagen Rabbits of course! ) and so on and so forth. (1 hour long) Some Boy Scout wisecracks, some HAMFEST JOKES, and a few other things.
