Back in the mid '80s one of the local repeaters was rebuilt and worked well for many years. I recall that Wayne, K0WF, then KA0E, was involved in the project. Recently I had occasion to see it, at least I think the unit I saw was it, and the only identification on the rack panels the RX and TX units are mounted to is "K R O". I tried emailing Wayne at the address on his QRZ.com listing but it has been returned as undeliverable.
Does anyone have more information on such a repeater such who built it and where that person(s) was located?

K R O is most likely in reference to the equipment rack you saw, not any repeater equipment contained in it. Since that was a Japanese equipment rack I can only surmise it may have contained a Japanese repeater - such as Icom had in that era.

I'd not heard of that company before, K7AAT. Thanks.
Perhaps I can get a picture sometime.

That repeater was built by Frank Parks (SK) WB0KRO. We have a few different modules in the KC area.
