Are there remote rigs that I can access and run FT8? I'd like to see what my signal looks like on the waterfall.

There are remote SDR radios you can access all over the world via the internet.

Yes, in fact I used to operate via remotehams.com. I looked at them and it seems like nobody wants any digital ops probably to save their finals in case of overuse. I will look at websdr to see if any of their radios can operate FT8 mode.
Thank you

I guess I just have to capture the audio from a websdr radio then play it through WSJT-X...

All the radios on RemoteHamRadio.com show the waterfall.
You can sign up for $20 a month plus airtime, and several stations are only 9 cents a minute.
If you are a Youth (under age 26) you can sign up and operate for free.

Good info, thanks. Sometimes the free options just aren't worth it. I'll try that later down the road....

Anyone who owns an Icom IC-705 can connect it to WiFi for remote operation with FT-8. If they are willing to share their password and user name, you can run their station from your computer with freeware. I mention and show it here,

The thing is showing the radios RF waterfall in FT8 operations IS NOT important. What is important is the viewing of the waterfall in the WSJT-x audio waterfall. That is the one you need to be watching. Watching the RF band waterfall on the radio is of little value to your operation.

You can see both waterfalls at the same time when the 705 is under remote control at the link above.

If your radio’s SSB filter is flat, and has good opposite sideband suppression, then both waterfalls should show identical data, within the filter’s passband, just colored and scaled differently. So you can watch either.
