Title: Looking for callsign of deceased - Peter Zakoian
Post by: KC1QBY on November 21, 2021, 08:27:33 AM
New Tech here and working on my General.

My mother mentioned that she's pretty certain her dad was a ham operator. If so, I'd love to try and get his callsign. He passed in 1996 and lived in the Lawrence, MA area. I checked the 1993 database and found nothing.

Anyone have any resources in which to check? She definitely remembers him talking to people through a radio when she was a kid and she vaguely recalls him getting postcards (QSLs most likely) from other people he talked to. This could've been anytime in the 60s-80s.

Very grateful for any help anyone can offer!

Greetings -

Another possibility is that your Grandfather was a CB'er.

In the late Fifties or early Sixties (I was 10 to 12 years old), our neighbor was into the CB scene. He also sent / received QSL cards to / from his fellow CB'ers.  Although everyone was local, it seemed to be a "thing" then.

Hope your search is successful.
