Howdy,
I was messing around with my BF HTs and came across something unexpected. My UV-5R III (tri-band) puts out a nominal 8W..
All the specs I've found claim it's a 4W unit like the basic UV-5R. So are they all like this or what?

I have a UV-5R, ver. BFP3-23, which has 3 power levels, and the highest one is 8 watts, verified on an accurate Bird 43. To check your version, hold down "3" while turning it on and the ver. number will be displayed for a second or two.

https://fcc.report/FCC-ID/2AJGM-UV5R - this is the latest FCC Certification for the UV- radios.
