They shipped a radio I ordered to my old address. They didn't even verify and I emailed them and advised that the radio was going to the wrong address and they didn't do anything, even as far as responding to my email. I tried calling them and no answer either. I have purchased other equipment from them and was satisfied, but this not responding to my request is it for me. They will not be getting another dollar from me. FYI, the radio was delivered to my old address and left at the front door. So, who knows what will happen to it since no one is living there now.
-
Why did they have your old address ? Was it ordered online ? If so, did you verify the shipping address ? I've ordered from R&L for years, never a problem.
-
I will make sure their attorneys are aware of your slander.
-
Why can’t you just go over to your old address and see if it’s there. Then pick it up and take it home.
-
If you have purchased from them before, they had your info on file. Correct. YOU knew that you moved, but ......... how did they know ?? Did you order from them since you moved ?? Do you have any friends ???, or relatives in the old town. If so ask someone to go over there and check on what happened to the package.
Sorry this happened to you.. R&L has a good reputation, but every business has mistakes now and then.
-
My go to store. Never a problem.
-
A ahm friend recommended them so I ordered a radio from them. I didn't have a problem, and would use them again.
-
I'm with everyone else here. this could have easily been prevented and could be fixed with out too much trouble if you know it was on their property. I've bought from R&L twice and all went very well.
-
If they didn't verify a message back to you then how did you find out that it was being shipped to an old address?
They obviously sent some kind of verification message to you that the order was shipped to the only address that they had on file for you so you must have received some type of reply message from them where you then discovered that, Oh crap it was being shipped to an old address by your mistake.
It sounds like you skimmed by the page during the return customer login/ordering process where you need to look over the address that the product will be shipped to on file at R&L and you just forgot to update and review your new address after you moved.
I just ordered from them a month ago and when I ordered there was a page that came up when I signed in as a returning customer, and everything pertaining to my shipping and billing address was already filled in for me and all I needed to do was make sure that the shipping information was up to date and then proceed to the payment page and fill in some other sensitive info that they don't keep on file but my address was auto filled in by R&L correctly.
If you place your order thru R&L's web page as most do these days, then they typically have the order processed in hours and it will typically ship that day or the next morning and once the product is in the shipping companies' hand then you will receive a return verification email from R&L that your product has being shipped along with a tracking number but once it's in the shippers hand the order cannot be changed by R&L.

Have done business with them for years with zero problems. I have spent more money there than I care to think about including new rigs and amps with never a problem. I also make sure ANY business I deal with either on the phone or on line has my CURRENT information..................
-
I've purchased several items from R&L over the years.
Never had a problem with them.
In my experience, they are a reputable dealer.

Dealth with these folks a number of times, felt they were great to deal with even when I had a return. Never an issue.
-
Same as others here - I've ordered a few times from them over the years and never had a problem. On one order, I called to check on the status of my order and my call was answered promptly.
-
Never had any problem at all, I will give them 5 stars a little better rating than my local HRO.
-
You have been registered for 6 years on this website and the first post you make is to trash a vendor for a shipping error????

Exactly . And it sure looks like it wasn't R&L's error.
-
Small problem in a big problem world.
-
Sam, you have been a Ham since 1968, and your not new to buying and shipping etc.
1. How about letting us know if you found / got the package ??
2. Maybe thinking about where the fault really lies. It might be your lack or attention to detail, it can happen. Maybe trashing a long time business, that thousands of hams have used with no problems and have high regard for, is unfair.
-
I've been doing business with them for over 20 years+. Never a single problem. Even for a 5$ part, they took the extra mile of shipping it to me via regular mail to lower the shipping charge.
-
I'm very lucky to live about an hour from R&l, I first went there because they were 'local' to me and have also ordered via telephone. I havn't spent as many dollars as most hams have, but each time I have ordered from them they made me feel like i was their most important customer. I would be interested to hear R&L's side of this story.
-
I've also been dealing with them for 20 years and never had a problem with them.
-
Would be nice for Sam to come back and let everyone know if he got the rig, and how things got resolved ??
Sure go online and slam a well know dealer that has a good reputation and then run away. Over 700 people have seen that post and I hope they read the replies and didn't base there ideas about R&L on his post.

Most of us even know Ohms Law and are smarter than that!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

Just a big chicken.

The majority opinion ?
Yes. I go through the same insanity with shipping from places. USPS/UPS/FEDERAL-EXPRESS-DHL-AMAZON All seem to leave a package anywhere. Even if they have the correct address some are too lazy to leave the truck and walk more than 2 inches.
Seems like this R&L an error on you ? -- but if you tried to correct and nobody there ? Often you can correct with the carrier if it is still to be delivered.
I got caught with this thread with the post --- I will contact their attorneys !!! Come On !!! We lost the right to complain ? Put all in jail.

If I were the owner of the business, I would have my lawyer contact the OP and the owner of this web site about defamation compen$ation. Like a good ham snitch, I alerted the owner.

I have had a few internet transactions with R & L over the years, and never had a problem of any kind.

You are a complete and absolute moron. There, contact your lawyer about me.
What a moron.

4AH, You took the words right out of my mouth. Thanks for expressing yourself.

I like R & L Electronics. Never had a problem with them that wasn't instantly rectified. If you want to save a little dough, R & L Electronics and Gigaparts sell cheaper than HRO and DX Engineering. Yes, I know about all the price-matching stuff, but R & L and Gigaparts have lower posted prices on their websites. I don't play the price-matching game.
I just wish R & L still put out a paper catalog. It is a heckuva lot easier to shop a paper catalog then order via the Internet, than spend time trying to find things on some of these websites. All websites are not created equal!

At least, I can read. I am not the owner of the biz and could care less. Just pointing out the site condones slander.

No. You are saying that the OP describing an experience he had with R&L amounts to slander. It does not.

As you say, Randy, it wouldn't be slander in any case. If it is defamatory, it would be classified as libel.

If it happened as described it is not classified as anything.
