Title: Troubleshooting help with WXtoIMG
Post by: KC1KQY on January 05, 2023, 06:36:40 AM
I'm using SDR sharp with  Gpridict to track and capture NOAA sat data. The SDR sends the data to WXtoIMG via the VB audio virtual cable. The problem is that as soon as WXtoIMG goes to record the pass, I get an error " Error, failed to open
output audio file.wav): permission denied. The file location for Audio, raw, etc. was set during a default set up. I tried to change the path and location but still get the same error and can't record the pass. I have tried everything that I can think of that might be stopping access to the file storage locations. Does anyone have any ideas what to try next next???
Thanks for the help!
Steven

It sounds like it is trying to open a file in a protected directory. Try running the program as administrator to see if that clear the error.

Right click on icon -> Run as administrator.

Glenn, thanks, great idea, but unfortunately that didn't work either. I tried moving the storage location to this. C:users/steven/Documents/WXtoIMG/audio.
The error that I get.
Error: failed to open output audio file (C:/users/Steven/documents/WXtoIMG/audio//202301051752.wav)
permission denied. There has to be a setting that I'm missing. I had this working a while ago but had to do a re-install do to the loss of the .exe file. One day my shortcut stopped working saying that the target was no longer there. I still don't know why that happened. Was it because it's a free wear and only runs for so long? Even when I click on the upgrade key, it brings me to a web hosting site. Is there anywhere to get tech support?
Thanks
Steven
