Title: Gigaparts
Post by: W0BKR on January 18, 2023, 04:52:32 PM
Well, I got screwed up with them.  Sent in a technical question and told me in an email I need to replace my signal link.  So ordered one, and in the meantime, got the one I had working okay.  I canceled the order, they shipped it anyway.  I get it appears it was an opened unit, no instructions, no CD, just the unit.  Never again.  Rather buy from someone off the swap boards if this is what I get as advertised as "new" in the box.  Box was mangled up like someone pried it open to remove something.  Just a signal link, cord, nothing else.  Talk about poor customer service.  Sent them and email about it, waiting to hear when they will send me the instructions and CD it is suppose to come with.

Return it on their dime and buy from R&L, HRO or other shop.  The thing I HATE is when you look at something on Gigaparts website, they spam you with emails reminding you that "you have good taste" and here is the item that you didn't want to purchase in the first place again.  Ebay is awful about this practice and my favorite computer store Microcenter is now also email spamming me when I look at something.  100% turn off!!

Yeah, hear that. I requested cancel right after (same day) ordering it and told them I did not need it. No answer.  Then, well, we cannot cancel we are shipping.  Oh well.  I figure they owe me the missing items for sure as a minimum.  Can resell it.

You have be very careful when dealing with Gigaparts. One day you’ll see an add for a radio priced at 2100 bucks and the next day at 1600 like all the other dealers. Their no longer just a ham store. They sell computers etc.
I wouldn’t trust them anymore.

I got one of those emails from giga, you have good taste. I thought it was  so phony and self serving, Bugged me so I unsubscribed.
I bought a 7300 from them, they seem ok otherwise.

Well, I don't think I will deal with them again.  I think the whole thing was stupid and poor customer service.  Adios.

Funny thing.  When I first started dealing with Gigaparts, it was for computer components.  I didn’t find out that they were owned & operated by hams until later.

Never had a problem with them.  Sorry to hear you have.  YMMV.

Explains all the complaints, poor practices/policies, and rip-offs.
