Title: Strange behavior in Chrome
Post by: EI2GLB on January 19, 2023, 02:34:13 PM
Hi All

I used to use this site years back but a strange issue arose in Chrome and I sort of stop visiting, also had small kids and other things to keep me busy,

Anyway I found my way back and the issue is still here,

If I am logged in and I click on the Forums link I can not see the list of different forums it is blank, If I click on a thread on the homepage I get a mirror effect and I can see 5+ headers and no content,

The only way I can get into a certain topic is click on view new replies to my posts and it will let me in,

But if I am logged out there is no issues,

anyone any ideas,

Thanks
Trevor

Sometimes websites violate the rules for browsers, sometimes browsers upgrade and break things....

Personally, I look in to eHam two or three times a day and have no big issues using Chrome (Version 109.0.5414.75, W11) on eHam.

However, I don't go to the front page and log in. I have a link that goes directly to the forums and I never actually log out. My login lasts for about a week, maybe 10 days, before I have to log in again. Once connected to eHam, I right click on the little eHam link (top left on the forums) and open just the forums in a new tab. This shows me only the forums without the eHam header and empty space on the left. From there I can see all of the forums and can navigate easily.

Last week there was a odd happening where two days in a row, I had to log in. That issue has not repeated itself.

The only issue I see regularly, when navigating the forums, is that the vertical scroll bar goes away sometimes. But I usually use a mouse wheel to scroll, so it doesn't bother me and doesn't stop me from navigating the forums. Eventually, the scroll bar comes back. Sometimes, when I mouse over a link on the page, the scroll bar returns.

Oh yes, I do run a ad blocker so I don't see any adverts.

Thanks Martin I think I found what was wrong, seemly there is a way to minimize the forums and it leaves the page blank, clicking expand it now works as it should,

Have a Great Weekend,
