Title: EZNEC using Crossover 22 on MacBook Air
Post by: W8BS on March 11, 2023, 04:48:04 AM
I have a new MacBook Air running Ventura 13.2.1 and a copy of Crossover for Mac version 22.1.  I am trying to get EZNEC PRO 2+ V7.0 to run in the Crossover bottle.  EZNEC seems to install OK but when I try to run a plot I get "The following error occurred in the calculating engine: 'Type mismatch' Cannot proceed"

Any ideas what may be causing the error and how to work around it?

Thanks

Hi Jim
that will be an unsupported method with the current crossover version,
as the last supported version was for the EZNEC 5.0.x series.
- you would have to create your own crossover tie, as well -

you may be better off, in trying with the iMac Boot Camp Assistant,
to get an copy of the windows system, to dual_boot with,
as there is an better chance of getting EZNEC 7.0.x to work with that method.

Hi Jim,
I am seeing a similar result using Crossover 22 on Linux Mint Debian Edition. When starting app with error logging on it appears that "TBBMALLOC.DLL" being "missing" might be the problem. Will report later if I have any success in fixing.

Yet another possibility, I have cocoaNEC compiled to run native arm64 on M1 and M2 Macs.  So it runs pretty fast.  The author, W7AY, said I could send copies to people who asks.  Email me if you want a copy.
