If all of the accessory filters were installed at some point then removed, someone may not have put the filter jumpers back to their factory positions.

Get the Instruction Manual and find the Options Installation section, particularly where the filters are called out. Study the procedure thoroughly and check the jumpers.

The standard configuration of the TS950SDX included the crystal filters YK88S-1 (2.7k), YK88C-1 (500Hz) in the 8.83M IF, and YG455S-1 (2.7k) and YG455C-1 (500Hz) in the 455k IF. The YK88SN-1 (1.8k), YK88CN-1 and YG455CN-1 were optional.
I suspect someone there have removed all the SSB and CW filters from the 455k IF and also removed the CW filter(s) from the 8.83M IF.

First of all, from the respective front panel keys try to select the 2.7k filter in the 8.83M IF (the YK88S-1) which is still in its place, and more important select the 6kHz filter for the 455k IF and see if the RX is working.
That 6kHz filter in the 455k IF is a ceramic one and is not socketed but instead it is directly soldered on the Signal Unit PCB, so I presume it was not removed and is still there. Select the 6k filter in the 455k IF for all SSB/CW/RTTY and AM/FM modes and see if the RX is working.

==============

The TS950SDX use menu settings for the installed optional IF crystal filters, so the firmware of the TRx to may correspondingly allow selecting them from the respective front panel keys. The problem is the menu include  settings only for the filters narrower than 2,7k (or at least this is what the manual states). For example you may not set in the respective menu that the YK88S-1 or the YG455S-1 are not installed because that ones were "standard" fitted filters and ON/OFF settings for them seems that were not included in the menu.
See "6.2 Optional filter installation" at page 58 in the TS950SDX user manual. If you access that menu as specified there, you may see what filters were previously available and which later were removed from the TRx. You can also disable (set to OFF) at least some of the now missing filters and this way those filters will not be selected from the front panel keys anymore, avoiding this way opening the RX IF chain.
