Friends:
Any recommendations on a top notch person to ship my SB 200 for repair, installation of soft start mods, etc? Ideally, your recommendation will be based on your personal experience...Thanks!

I’ve been doing all Heathkit amp upgrades for 50years, among other amps as well.

I encourage you to do it yourself. It’s a simple amp to work on and you will learn from the process. There are a myriad videos and written descriptions of this amp. Nothing every complicated even for the first timer.

VERY highly rated. Have use him myself. N4ATS. Bill. 407-873-3070. Grassa@earthlink.com
He's in St. Cloud, FL (just south of Orlando). A first class technician and a man of integrity.

If you want to see how the SB-200 mods / upgrades are done, look here. https://www.youtube.com/@amprepairguy/videos
Scott just did a SB-200, that's his latest video...posted 2 days ago.
He has a total of 16 x SB-200 video's on his u tube channel. That all he does is fix amps 12 hr a day, 5 days a week.
Or just phone him at (203) 892-4119 He's in CT.

those have fragile power transformers, so you might want to upgrade that too! Is it worth it?

Carl, KM1H, in NH repairs these as well.

KM1H is 83 yrs old now. Nobody has heard from him in > a year. He used to post in a ton of different groups, but no more. Somebody had a wellness check done on him, and he's ok. Dunno if he's still fixing amps or not.

A vote for W1QJ, he's the best. He worked on my SB-200 several years ago (new band switch and a few other things), it's still going strong.
