Hi all,
I picked up an FT-1000MP over the weekend and worked a few stations during the Virginia QSO Party and all seemed well. I noticed yesterday and again this morning, that when I transmit, the SWR is showing over 3:1 on my resonant antennas. I moved the coax to the ANT B jack, but get the same readings. This is with the internal antenna tuner out of line. If I engage the internal tuner, it attempts to tune but just keeps going and going, never getting the SWR below 3:1.
I put a dummy load on it and it is does the same thing, actually showing a higher SWR, pretty much full scale. So this obviously rules out any coax jumpers and the antennas.
It did it briefly yesterday, but then went back to normal, so to me that suggests an intermittent connection inside the radio. This morning when I turned on the radio it was doing it again, but I could not get it to return to a proper state.
I haven't popped the cover off yet to take a look. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar issue or might have a suggestion on what to look for.
Thanks,
Max

I did look through his site, did not find anything related to this issue. Great website though!

Probably a crusty relay. R&R or open and sand.

Issue FIXED...bad solder joint around the toroid on the LPF board in the SWR coupler section. Touched up all the solder joints and so far so good.
Thank you for everyone's assistance.
