I am racking my brain trying to figure out how and where to install a Tarheel 75A. I have the Honda rigid cover that I figure I would leave open when I want to use the antenna. I was trying to mount it toward the rear but the "trunk" cannot be opened. The REP Design BKT-HondaRL seems to be out of business. Any info or pictures with your install would be great. I would rather not use the hitch.

Go to Breedlove Machining and look at their heavy-duty stake mounts for starters. Avoid a hitch mount if you can---worst place for any mobile antenna. I mounted my Scorpion on a Breedlove Fold-Over mount atop my truck's tool box---another way to go. Be sure to BOND and CHOKE eveything/everywhere, too.

I have a 2008 Ridgeline. I tried two different mag mounts for VHF, maybe one will work for you. One was a thin metal plate glued to the bed right behind the cab. The second one I used the tie down brackets right behind the cab. Made a flat plate and bolted it through the tiedown on the passenger side.

I also have a 2022 Ridgeline and am just starting to think about what antenna I would like and how to mount it. No decisions yet but I will b e following this thread closely.
Good luck sorting it out.

In 1998 I installed a screwdriver antenna on my Explorer. A stainless steel support bar was fabricated from the overhead rack rail and attached (insulated) below the inductor. Has worked well, including 10 round trips between Anchorage and Seattle via the Alaska Highway. Still in service today.
No affect on the antenna tuning was noted when attaching the bracket below the inductor. The steel was purchased from local big box store. Can send image if you like.
Good luck with the project.

I don't think Ridgelines have stake pockets. Looking at photos online, a behind the tail light mount looks like a viable option. Those are win-win in several respects, being sturdy, decent performance and no interference to the bed cover or tailgate.

http://www.k0bg.com/ (http://www.k0bg.com/) Go here. Alan at one time had a Ridgeline and there may be pics of his install at his site. Some consider Alan to be the Mobile Install "go to". YMMV.

Alan's Ridgeline was an older model. The mount he used isn't available any more. I was hoping to go behind the tail light but the trunk in the bed would become unavailable. Breedlove does not have anything I can use without drilling holes(not happening).
I was hoping someone with a similar Ridgeline might have come up with something. I am thinking about using the two bolts up high along the side to be used to mount electrical strut then work off of that.

Not sure how a mount behind the tail light interferes with the trunk. The antenna would be outboard of the bed.

Look at my QRZ page wb5oxq and see if you can do something like I did on my 2022 Santa Cruz a similar truck.
