Title: 160 meter Inverted L Trap Antenna
Post by: KO4NR on March 23, 2023, 11:37:54 AM
The design I have shows a little over 34 feet of wire between the feed point on the ground and the 40-meter trap.  I have about 50 feet available for the vertical section so was wondering if the trap needs to be in the horizontal section or can I just move it out into the horizontal section.  Would like to use as much height as I have available.  Between the 40-meter trap and 80-meter trap the design shows a little over 31 feet of wire.

To retain 40 meter operation the trap only needs to be 34' from the feed point. It can be anywhere you like.

Thank you.  I have a total of 150 feet of wire and found that I have the space to hang it.  The horizontal section will be in dog leg.  Didn't want to cut it if I didn't have to.  It's a trap Inverted L antenna for 160, 40 and 80 meters.
