Title: FT-290R Frequency mod question
Post by: W3DBJ on March 24, 2023, 07:32:56 AM
Attempting to change the frequency range of this Japanese FT-290R as it's largely out of band here in the US.

However, when I look at the CPU board, this is what I'm seeing where I'd expect to find 4 jumpers. It looks like one is crossed???

Hoping someone who knows the board better than me might be able to decode what's going on with it.

Thanks

If you get it going that rig would be most useful for 2M SSB/CW around  144.200MHz.

Probably not to useful for FM repeaters, as you  will also need a CTSS tone that is impractical to add.
The tone is usually different to prevent bringing up multiple repeaters unintentionally.
