Hi everyone!!
I got this 664 from eBay, but is not working, it is in pretty good condition aesthetically speaking, but it doesn't work...
I opened it and it seems that someone replaced the transformer before (wiring color do not match and the heatshrink gave me some clues :P)

I have some ideas in mind, I tried to look up some replacement transformer and didn't find any.
I don't know too much about microphones, but:
1. Can I wire the capsule directly to the XLR and test if it is working fine and discard a bad capsule? is it in any way not recommended?
2. Can I wire an SM57 (4 wires) transformer instead of the original (6 wires)? I will leave this microphone in Lo-Z setting.
3. Anyone with a functioning 664 that tells me if this wiring is ok? any other solution maybe?

Thank you, awesome radio geeks!!!

What impedance are you looking for? Default is hi Z but is capable of 150 ohms.
What test eqpt do you have available? What are you planning to use it with?

Thank you for your answer!
I don't know much about impedance and how it will change the sound of it, but I think that low-Z is more universal than high-Z, am I wrong? I will use it with a USB interface for now
