Title: WRTC-2K
Post by: W4AN on April 18, 2000, 05:21:01 PM

Who is going that is not competing?

Anyone planning anything serious from the states?

I'm looking for some where to operate from the northwest.  CW only of course.

Can you believe the callsigns they are going to let the competitors use?  Things like S511E and S572Z, etc.  Three numbers!  That should be fun for the prefix hunters and a real challenge for the participants.

I won't be doing anything serious, but I definitely plan to get on and try to find and work as many competitors as I can.

Ya, when I saw the callsign announcement I thought to myself "Well that is certainly the opposite of what they did for WRTC 96".  I guess they want to test how well you can respond to "What's your call?" !!!

Three digits in WRTC callsigns might be a real problem for a people still using fingers for counting :-)

Oh, you should have made them 5 digits then!

CQ CONTEST this is Sugar five one three eight six Tango... QRZ?

That would have really fixed us dummies who count on our fingers!
